A PLACE In The Celeb Report’s Laura Hamilton has revealed her £2.1m former home’s incredible transformation after a nine-year renovation.
The TV star, 39, said an emotional goodbye to the country property earlier this month before it was revealed she’d split from her husband Alex Goward.
Sharing a picture montage of how the house had changed over the years on Instagram, she wrote: “Today we close the door and say goodbye to a home that we have loved and enjoyed for the last 9 years -the longest I have lived anywhere in my entire adult life!
“It was a home that we transformed (as you can see in the photos), but MORE importantly it was a home where we created some incredible memories that we will cherish forever…
“Change can be scary but you know what is scarier? Allowing fear to stop you from growing, evolving and progressing.
“When it feels scary to jump that’s exactly when you jump, otherwise you just end up staying in the same place your whole life, and that I can’t do…”
Initially a dated and dowdy property, Laura and Alex stripped the house to a bare shell and gave it a new lease of life.
The finished result was a charming cottage with an outdoor pool, landscaped garden and a very chic interior.
Laura recently showed off her brand new home, revealing scaffolding up at the front.
Alongside the photo, Laura wrote: “The scaffolding is up and the renovation begins…
“It’s no secret I love renovating properties. I love turning something run down in to something special…”
Revealing she’s got big plans, Laura continued: “Yesterday my planning application was validated, and whilst I now have a couple of months before I can (hopefully) start the major work.
“In the meantime I’m making a start on repairing the roof and repointing the brickwork!”
And posting some photos from inside the home on her story, Laura added: “I have BIG plans for my new home. But in the meantime it’s cosy with lots of lamps, flowers and candles.”
Laura’s fresh start comes after she announced her shock split from Alex, after 13 years together.
She married insurance broker Alex in 2012 – three years after they started dating.
They share two children together, eight-year-old Rocco and a daughter Tahlia, six.
Revealing her break-up, Laura said: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.”
Alongside her message to fans, Laura shared an image which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
The TV star has turned off comments on her Instagram post, stopping followers from leaving messages underneath.
Earlier this month Laura told fans “change can be scary” as she moved out of the family home in Surrey after nine years.
