AMERICA’S Got Talent star Jay Jay Phillips has passed away of Covid-19 as his mother discovers his lifeless body.
A family member confirmed the AGT contestant’s death to TMZ, saying the rocker was battling the virus at home the week of Thanksgiving.
According to the outlet, Phillips’ condition took a turn for the worse the day before the holiday.
The rocker’s family had reportedly urged him to seek treatment, to which he replied by saying he needed more sleep.
Family and friends were reportedly continuously checking in with him over the phone; however, they never heard back after November 24.
Phillip’s girlfriend and mother, a nurse, went to check on him on Thanksgiving day and found him dead. He was 30.
The AGT star’s family confirmed the 30-year-old was not vaccinated but planned to get the shot soon.
Phillip’s father, who lives with the TV star, is also infected with Covid and is currently hospitalized and hooked to a ventilator.
Phillip, who was widely recognized on the show due to his hairstyle, first appeared on season 4 of the talent competition show but was eliminated early.
He returned eight years later for season 12, making it farther this time around, but was ultimately eliminated in the Judge Cuts quarterfinals.
From 2009 to 2010, Phillip, a Cleveland native, competed in the Tri-C High School Rock Off with his metal band, Hysteria. from Riverside high school.
He was the keyboardist of the band.
