A legendary film franchise that was axed by Netflix has reportedly found a new home with a rival streamer. The superhero movie series was cancelled in July by the streaming giant after it reportedly spent $30 million in development for it. Netflix decided to step away from the franchise when the budget, which had been set at more than $200 million, could not be dropped down.

The studio is reportedly considering producing a live-action film based on He-Man and a series of other popular Mattel toys. If the studio moves forward, it will need to strike new deals with the creators for script editing and directing.

Adam and Aaron Nee, the writing and directing duo behind The Lost City, are said to be creating the revived Masters of the Universe film. According to several sources, conversations are underway with Amazon following the July release of a planned version of the Nee brothers' film on Netflix. However, another source warns that the Amazon talks are uncertain.
Actor Kyle Allen Set to Play He-Man
Actor Kyle Allen is said to still be playing the character of He-Man in the revived Masters of the Universe film. The casting choice remains unchanged despite the franchise moving to a different streaming platform.
