Love Island’s ‘real winner’ revealed as most followed contestant on Instagram is named

LOVE Island fans have named the show’s ‘real winner’ after workout out which contestant gained the most social media followers.

And in a surprise twist, the person who came out on top didn’t even make the show’s final.

It turns out Jessie Wynter, who entered the show as a bombshell from the Australian series, has the biggest following.

And she is followed by Will Young, who she fell in love with in the villa.

Interestingly, Jessie and Will were dumped the night before the final after being voted ‘least compatible’ by their fellow islanders.

They then came out on the bottom of the public vote and were sent packing.

But eagled-eyed fans of the show have analysed the number of followers the contestants had before the show, and how many they have now.

Jessie already had a huge head start on the other islanders as she was known from the Australian version of the franchise, so she entered the villa with an impressive 300k followers.

But as of today, she has 712k, eclipsing the nearest girl, Samie, by 312K.

Will has the next highest number, clocking in at 501k.

When he entered the villa, he already had a respectable 101k followers as a result of his TikTok following.

The show’s winners, Kai and Sanam, who topped the public vote, have 283K and 294k followers respectively.

It’s not great news, however, for bombshells Ellie and Martin, who came out at the bottom.

Ellie went in with 3.4k followers, and now has 69.6k, while Martin went from 2.6k to 24.8k.

The islanders have seen their social media followings take a hit compared to previous years as this was the first time the islanders were banned from having active profiles during the show.

In the past, friends and family have run their accounts for them while the show is airing, but ITV decided to scrap that as part of their duty of care.
