MARRIED At First Sight groom Terence Edwards is facing criticism from viewers for his comments on the show that many have deemed "sexist." The 40-year-old youth worker surprised viewers when he expressed his desire to be the sole provider for his family, prompting some to suggest that he would be better suited to the 1950s.
Terence Wants Traditional Gender Roles
Terence, who was matched with Porscha, 36, revealed, "I definitely want to be the provider, I think it’s important for the man to be the man, to go out there and provide for your family. And for my wife, I'll need her to look after the house, look after the kids, and make me feel good when I come in from work."

The comments made by Terence immediately sparked backlash on social media, with one Twitter user saying, "'I need my wife to look after the house and the kids' Get back on ya dinosaur Terence fs." Another person called him a "misogynistic piggy," while someone else questioned if he had been "trapped in the 1950s."
More Trouble in Paradise
The couple's relationship got off to a rocky start when Porscha discovered Terence's job as a DJ, which involved partying until the early hours. Porscha, on the other hand, revealed that she has a strict 11pm bedtime. Additionally, she confronted Terence about his religious beliefs during their wedding, before even asking for his name.
Things worsened when it was revealed that Terence had called the police on Porscha after a heated argument. He accused her of cutting up his clothes and smashing two of his designer watches. The drama unfolded soon after the couple moved in together following their Commitment Ceremony.
Mystery Surrounds the Damage
Although Porscha was the only other person with access to their shared flat, there was reportedly no evidence to determine who damaged the clothing. Channel 4, the network airing the show, replaced Terence's damaged clothes, as well as his Michael Kors and Hugo Boss watches. A spokesperson for the network confirmed that the contributor was either reimbursed or provided with replacements for the items.
