MARVEL’S Falcon and the Winter Soldier FINALLY dropped its full Disney+ trailer at the Super Bowl and confirmed its release date.
Marvel fans have been desperately waiting for months to find out when the Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan series will air on the streaming service.
Production on the series was hit by numerous delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, with filming shut down early last year before resuming in the autumn.
During Sunday’s Superbowl, the first full trailer for the action-packed show dropped, and confirmed it will premiere on Disney+ on Friday, March 19.
The trailer opens with Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in an interrogation room with a woman asking Bucky why Sam ‘aggrivates’ him so much.
The action then kicks in, with the pair on a plane and Falcon jumping out of the aircraft without telling the Winter Soldier what the plan was.
The high-octane trailer then shows dramatic aerial pursuits as well as the two Avengers getting into an epic fight with masked criminals alongside S.H.I.E.D agent Sharon Carter.
The series main villain is Baron Helmut Zemo played by Daniel Bruhl, who is reprising the character from Captain America: Civil War.
Offering a glimpse of him from behind in the trailer, Zemo is heard in voiceover saying: “Superheroes cannot be allowed to exist, I have no intention to leave my work unfinished.”
He is also seen carrying his purple mask for the first time, which is bound to add extra excitement for die-hard Marvel comic fans.
As well as the action, there seems like there will also be plenty of banter between the two lead characters, who aren’t necessarily best buds.
The trailer ends back in the interrogation room, with Sam and Bucky taking part in a staring contest, much to the woman questioning them’s annoyance.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ on Friday, March 19.
