Creator hits back

Brendan O'Carroll, the creator and star of Mrs Brown's Boys, responded to the criticism and defended the show's popularity. He acknowledged that comedy is subjective and explained that the show has received countless letters from families, including those with autistic children, who have found solace and laughter in Mrs Brown's Boys.

"When you get a letter like that, I don't care what the critics say. That'll do me," O'Carroll said.
