ADAM Peaty is swapping the swimming pool for the BBC ballroom – but did he hint it to us two weeks ago?
In an interview with The Times, Adam admitted that he loves the idea of that public backing and wants to appear on MasterChef or Strictly Come Dancing.
He mentioned how different the Tokyo Olympics was without a crowd, because he loves to perform and feed off the energy of a crowd.
Adam said: “It was weird. It took a while to get used to. It felt very flat at the start.”
He added: “With the nation behind me, I know I can achieve that [100m swim], and it will mean more to me.
“The more the sport grows, the more power I get in that last 25 metres knowing how many people support me.
“Knowing the support back home. I know how powerful it’s going to be moving forward.”
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, the British sportsman admitted that he’s “bad at dancing” but “is a quick learner” so could surprise fans as he swaps the swimming pool for the salsa.
Adam added in a statement: “I think this will come as a surprise to a lot of people.
“But I’m so excited to finally share the news that I’ll be joining Strictly this year.
“I’m really looking forward to doing something totally different and challenging myself away from the pool.
“I’m hoping my competitive nature is going to compensate for my dancing abilities!”
