He will get six months’ wages to soften the blow after ITV decided his feud with Holly Willoughby was losing too many viewers.
And This Morning has wasted no time getting rid of Phillip from the opening credits.
As Monday morning’s show began with replacement hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, Phillip was nowhere in sight.
Instead, the credits use images of the guests set to star on today’s show, with no sign of any of the This Morning presenters, which isn’t normally the case.
The introduction shows a bridge, the TV studios, a café, but has a completely revamped look with Phillip and Holly no longer involved in the intro.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary took to the famous sofa on Monday and will do so for the rest of the week.
The duo, who are part of the This Morning family, usually present the show on Friday mornings.
Following the news of Phil’s axe from This Morning, ITV revealed Holly will be taking “an early half-term holiday”. She is not set to return to screens until Monday, June 5.
Today’s show opened with a heartfelt tribute to Phil, as Alison described him as one of the best broadcasters in British history.
Phillip received a huge payout following his axing from ITV’s This Morning, a source has claimed.
A source told The Celeb Report: “Phil has been given his This Morning wages for six months — but if that was meant to make him feel better, it’s just not working.
“Phil feels he has been shown zero respect and he is devastated by how this has played out.
“He thinks the way he was forced to step down was so unjust and he feels completely broken by how this situation has been handled.”
