Pilgrimage viewers all say the same thing as Scarlett Moffat defends herself over religion

PILGRIMAGE star Scarlett Moffatt stood up for herself after she was ‘taken down a little’ by one of her co-stars.

The former Gogglebox star, 31, was chatting to TV presenter Nick Hower as the pair went for supplies while the other celebrities continued on the hike.

Pilgrimage star Scarlett Moffatt had the perfect comeback to Nick Hower

Over two weeks, the seven pilgrims are following in the footsteps of the sixth century Irish monk, Saint Columba.

Scarlett and Nick explored the religious beliefs, with the reality explaining how

Scarlett identifies as a Christian which is one of the world’s largest faith based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth.

Nick asked her, “when did you get the religion bug?”

She discussed how she started becoming religious about six years ago “when nice things started happening to me” and realised “there must be somebody bigger than us making this happen.”

Nick told her he was brought up by the Jesuits that he described as the “Stormtroopers of the north” and that’s what made him “slightly irreligious now.”

They then discussed whether religion should be “black and white,” when Nick made the snide comment that how would she feel about religion if things started going bad.

“Her influencers [followers] will dry up and you look at your numbers and you only have three, how would that be?” he quizzed.

Scarlett didn’t miss a beat telling: “To be fair, Jesus only had 12 so I wouldn’t mind.”

Viewers were pleased with Scarlett’s clap back to the comments.

One viewer tweeted: “‘Jesus only had 12 followers’ well said Scarlett, good riposte to Nick, who I felt was trying to take you down a little.”

TV personality Nick is an agnostic who was raised with Catholic roots.

An agonistic is a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God.

This differs from the term atheist which can be used to describe a person who disbelieves in the existence of God or gods.

Nick retired as the host of Countdown in 2020.
