The BGT winners performed to music from the decades during the Queen’s reign

The troupe covered the decades since the Queen came to the throne, including The Beatles, the Spice Girls and Stormzy.

As the music changed from one act to the next, Ashley narrated the history of dance before busting a few moves of his own with his co-stars.

Viewers were incredibly impressed by their latest performance, with one writing on Twitter: “#Diversity just get it right every time. Perfection.”

Another added: “What I’d give just to spend 10 minutes inside the brain of @AshleyBanjo – the creativity is just next level.”

A third tweeted: “Wow, #Diversity was excellent! What a performance.”

Meanwhile a fourth shared: “They are a world class act.”

However, viewers were not as impressed by Rod Stewart and Diana Ross, who performed later in the show.

Sir Rod, 77, performed Neil Diamond hit Sweet Caroline, revealing the BBC had made him sing it.

The star was accused of ‘butchering’ the song by viewers watching at home, while they also took a dim view of Diana’s closing performance as they felt her mic had been turned down.

“I can hardly hear Diana Ross. Just me or have the microphones been dodgy?” one kicked off the furious comments.

A second chimed in: “What’s happened to Diana Ross’s mic? Sack the sound engineer,” as a third agreed: “Turn the volume UP!”

“Could someone turn Diana Ross’ mic up  – she can do some right belters and this is lame at the moment,” a fourth added.

As a fifth concluded: “Why is her microphone so quiet? Turn it up!”
