PREGNANT star of The Bay Georgia Scholes has blasted trolls for ‘fat-shaming’ after they urged bosses to recast her for looking ‘old and enlarged’.

Georgia plays Erin Fischer in the hit ITV drama’s fourth series, the stepdaughter of family liaison officer DS Jenn Townsend.

However, after Wednesday’s episode, The Bay fans took to Twitter to comment on Erin’s change in appearance since series three.

Many left unflattering comments about her weight, but Georgia quickly put them in their place.

She wrote online: “Amused at some of the comments I’ve seen about myself in #thebay that I should have been recast because I’m ‘enlarged’, and look ‘old’, reality is this face can’t even get served in a bar.

“Thanks to the bay for keeping my fat a**e in a job n not sacking me for being pregnant.”

Thankfully, Georgia received lots of support from her fans, with one writing: “Give them what for. Good to see learn/meet another new mummy in the business. Congrats!”

Another added: “You were great. Realising you were pregnant at the time of filming adds a twist to last night’s scenes. Have you seen the theory that it’s actually Jacqui’s test?”

A third tweeted: “Some people are horrible individuals u embrace your looks.”

Meanwhile a fourth shared: “Ignore the hater’s beautiful! Your a fantastic person & great actor… that no one on this earth could replace!! Keep being you…Xx.”

The Bay fans were also left stunned to see a soap favourite on the show.

Loan shark Len Reid was played by actor Robert Beck, who previously appeared in Emmerdale as Gavin Ferris and Brookside asPeter Harrison.

Viewers then commented on Twitter, with one quipping: “Robert Beck looks younger now than he did in Brookside!”

A second flagged his identity as hey wrote: “He’s Robert Beck. He was in #Brookside and #Corrie and #TheBill.”
