Dragons' Den rejection turned into success story
A Dragons' Den entrepreneur, Mark Wong, who was turned down by all five business experts on the popular TV show, is now having the last laugh as his company, IMPOSSIBREW, is valued at £12 million.
From rejection to triumph
Mark Wong, then 24, pitched his non-alcoholic beer brand, IMPOSSIBREW, to the Dragons in 2022 seeking a £45,000 investment for a 10% stake. Despite praise from the Dragons for being the "most credible 24-year-old" to enter the Den, all five experts ultimately declined to invest.
Resilience pays off
Despite the initial setback, IMPOSSIBREW launched a successful Crowdcube fund earlier this year, securing a £500,000 investment with a pre-money valuation of £12 million. Mark Wong reflected on the Dragons' Den experience, acknowledging that the timing might not have been right initially, but the company has since gained traction and success.
Entrepreneurial journey and family influence
Originally from Hong Kong, Mark Wong founded IMPOSSIBREW after being diagnosed with severe liver damage at 21 and realizing the need for non-alcoholic beer options. Coming from a family with a medical background, Mark merged his love for beer with functional medical knowledge to create a product that resonated with consumers.

Open to future collaborations
Despite the Dragons' Den rejection, Mark Wong remains open to working with the experts in the future, acknowledging their talent and proven acumen. The entrepreneur sees value in potential collaborations and is open to discussions with the Dragons.
IMPOSSIBREW's success story serves as a reminder that resilience, passion, and innovation can turn rejection into triumph in the competitive business world.
