REAL Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd’s stepdaughter Veronica Leventhal slammed “racism and privilege” following the reality star’s “offensive” comments.
The 29-tear-old took to Facebook as she appeared to throw shade at Kelly, 45.
Veronica, who’s the daughter of Rick Leventhal, posted a video on Facebook shortly after Kelly claimed she was black during the RHOC reunion.
She said in the clip: “I don’t think it’s okay for people who say that they’ve experienced racism or prejudice to then turn around and inflict that same bigotry on other people.
“I don’t think you can experience the privileges of whiteness and then turn around and deny that those privileges exist.”
Veronica continued: “I don’t think that you can claim ownership on a culture or a nationality and then disallow privileges to those people, either through certain political perspectives or just subjugating them in other ways.
“And I don’t think you can use your personal multiculturalism as a shield for people saying that you have biases.”
She concluded: “And finally, if you are going to make arguments about racism, then you should have a basic understanding of the difference between race, ethnicity, and nationality.”
While Veronica did not directly name her stepmother in the video, many fans left comments on a tweet of the clip shared by a fan account stating that it was targeted at Kelly.
The Bravo star married Rick, 61, in 2020.
Kelly is no stranger to controversy and has been slammed by fans for her controversial comments regarding Covid-19.
Additionally, the RHOC star received backlash after she wore a hat that read “drunk wives matter,” a play on the Black Lives Matter movement, during her bridal shower in October.
Kelly showed off the present by sharing a snap of her sporting the hat, though many fans took to the comments section of the Instagram post to call the gift “insensitive.”
One RHOC fan wrote: “It’s really sad to see you in that had, so insensitive.”
Another shared a similar sentiment, adding: “That hat is a bit insensitive but okay.”
A third disgruntled follower commented: “Kelly your hat is not funny.”
Over the weekend, the RHOC star was fired by the Positive Beverage company because of her “controversial views and opinions.”
The firing came shortly after she hinted that she’s also been fired from RHOC.
