Now, Jodie, 29, has revealed that she’s had a boy and she’s opted for the unique name of Koa for her son, which means ‘warrior’ and ‘brave one.’
The house DJ and radio presenter has described her son as a “healthy and happy little boy.”
Jodie, who didn’t discover she was pregnant until four months along, said: “My son is the best thing that’s ever happened to me, just seeing him and knowing that I helped create him is an amazing feeling.
“He is the love of my life and I’m proud to be a mum. I didn’t keep it a secret because I was ashamed, I did it to ensure I would still have a future and be the best mum I could be to him.”
Jodie has spoken out about the difficulty of keeping her pregnancy a secret, and explained that she did it because “men in the music industry told her it would make her unbookable.”
She makes most of her money through DJing and club appearances, but also works as an influencer on social media.
A pal shared: “Jodie didn’t want to be outcast because of her choice to grow her family, she didn’t want to lose opportunities, and she didn’t want people to think she couldn’t handle a baby and a boss career.”
In a bid to keep her bump under wraps, the glamorous TV veteran changed up her wardrobe completely and decided to go “big and bold.”
A pal continued to explain: “She invested a lot of money into new clothes and accessories that would strategically cover her bump, without losing any glam.”
The star is yet to post a photo of her son on her social media.
Despite being a new mum, Jodie, who suffers with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), has no plans to slow down when it comes to her career.
She’s ready to “embrace ‘mompreneur’ life and plans to fit her DJ sets and events around the baby,” with the help of her family.
Jodie did a DJ set 9 days post-partum but she’s now on a few weeks rest so that she can settle into a routine with her newborn.
