ROB Brydon left Catchphrase viewers annoyed with his ‘unbearable’ habit during a celebrity special.
The Gavin and Stacey star is much loved by many, but during a festive edition of the ITV gameshow, he caught some people’s attention for the wrong reasons.
Rob, 56, played alongside The Chase’s Anne Hegerty and Diversity’s Perri Kiely, while host Stephen Mulhern gave hints to the various catchphrases.
Whenever Rob went to answer, he couldn’t help but make a joke or chitchat about other stuff, and it started to grate on some watching at home.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Rob, you do know you can just simply give the answer without a long-winded speech, right?”
Another added: “Time to turn it over I think, Rob is unbearable.”
A third tweeted: “Come on Anne, Rob is just wasting time with his chit chat.”
Meanwhile a fourth shared: “I really like Rob Brydon but f**k me, he’s doing my head in on #catchphrase.”
It may have come as no surprise to fans of The Chase that Anne, 63, excelled at the game and made it through to the final round.
Anne held her nerve and managed to win £25,000 for her chosen charity.
Taking to Twitter, a fan wrote: “Omg @anne_hegerty you were absolutely incredible on @Catchphrase and you absolutely smashed it! Way to go Anne!
“You were just as bloody incredible as Jenny. Super proud of you Anne and for such a great cause too which is very close to my heart.”
A fellow viewer added: “I love @anne_hegerty so much! She seems like the kindest and sweetest person ever x.”
Catchphrase airs on ITV.
