Sherwood fans furious as BBC schedule shake up disrupts dramatic finale

FANS of BBC’s Sherwood have been left fuming after a last-minute shake-up ‘ruined’ the show.

The drama series continued on Monday night, as two shocking murders shook the community.

The latest instalment saw the popular police show switched over to BBC Two, from BBC One.

This was due to Andy Murray’s match at Wimbledon overrunning.

The Scotsman went on to win his match against Australian player James Duckworth.

However, Sherwood fans weren’t happy

Although it’s possible to catch up on the episodes missed on BBC iPlayer, many were left raging after they’d used their set-top boxes to record the 9pm slot on BBC One.

They returned to find that the tennis had been recorded instead of their beloved drama.

Frustrated viewers took to Twitter to share their frustrations.

One wrote: “Just started to watch last night’s #sherwood but it’s tennis that has recorded what a phenomenal pain in the a**e.”

Another said: “#Sherwood fans, get ready to be screwed over by the tennis again tonight when the show is shunted to bbc2 so you sky+ records a random hour of tennis @bbcpress @BBCOne.”

As the final epsiode was set to air on Tuesday, another wrote: “@BBCSport heads up.

“Please do not muck the schedules up at 9.00pm. Final of #Sherwood. You have been warned. Not everyone is a tennis fan.”

Whilst the finale of Sherwood did air on BBC One, not BBC Two on Tuesday, it was delayed a short while due to the Serena Williams and Harmony Tan game.

Sherwood has also just been renewed for a second series, with filming set to take place in 2023.
