WORLD On Fire viewers were left outraged as they ripped into the ‘letdown’ season two finale.
The BBC drama follows the intertwined lives of ordinary civilians across Europe during World War II.

Fans were not impressed by the series finale of BBC’s World On Fire
The likes of Helen Hunt and Sean Bean starred in the first installment of the epic period series.
Star of the hit Netflix series The Crown, Lesley Manville reprised her role alongside The Little Mermaid actor Jonah Hauer-King who also returned to the show.
Pretty Little Liars star Gregg Sulkin joined the cast as jewish RAF pilot David who gets shot down in Occupied France.
The second series of World on Fire moves forward to October 1940 and it goes up until May of 1941.
Viewers saw Lesley’s character Robina as she grappled with the complicated personal dynamics to try to keep the peace at her remote country home in Cheshire.
Jonah’s character Harry successfully escaped from Occupied Poland with his wife Kazia who was part of the resistance.
However, one he arrived back in England, he then chose to leave behind his personal troubles to join the British forces to fight against the Axis powers in Tobruk.
Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend Lois (played by Julia Brown) left behind the pair’s newborn daughter Vera to help the wounded in Egypt.
Other characters include Marga Kühne (played by Miriam Schiweck) who struggles to live under the strict policies of the terrible Lebensborn programme in Nazi Germany.
Despite a tense series full of twists and turns that had viewers hooked, they were less than impressed by the ending of the series finale.
One fan wrote: “LISTEN @WorldOnFireTV YOU GOTTA STOP ENDING YOUR SEASONS THIS WAY
my emotions aren’t doing well!”
Another exclaimed: “THAT ENDING NO IT CAN’T BE REAL NOOOOO #WorldOnFire,” alongside a GIF of a screaming kid.
“World On Fire what do you mean this is how it ends
,” penned a third
Whilst a fourth noted: “THAT ENDING OH MY GOSH #WorldOnFire”
Meanwhile another fumed: “Last episode of #WorldOnFire … THAT ENDING????
.”
“WTF WAS THAT ENDING #WorldOnFire,” a sixth raged.
And a seventh added: “Well just watched episode 6 of series 2 & what a let down. There has to be series 3 & it needs to be at the end of the year not in 4 years #WorldOnFire.”
