Actor speaks out against consistent online abuse
Strictly Come Dancing finalist Layton Williams has taken a stand against a cruel troll who has been "attacking" him on social media. The 29-year-old, who was partnered with Nikita Kuzmin during his time on the BBC One competition, faced repeated criticism throughout the series. Williams publicly shared an exchange with the troll, responding with a blunt message: "Oh f*** off Dave." He also urged others who are still angry to "just leave me alone."
Defending his experience on the show
Williams had previously faced criticism from viewers and former Strictly professionals for being allowed to take part in the competition despite having previous dance experience. However, he proved his talent by reaching the final of this year's Strictly. Unfortunately, he lost out on lifting the Glitterball trophy to Ellie Leach, former Coronation Street star, who topped the viewer vote with her pro partner Vita Coppola.
Williams is now looking forward to some well-deserved downtime, freedom, and a much-needed holiday. He ended his message with a positive note, sending "love and light" to his supporters, except for individuals like Dave, whom he directed a middle finger emoji towards.
