Strictly fans convinced contestant ‘gave away’ show exit with emotional ‘goodbye speech’ last night

FANS of Strictly Come Dancing have been left convinced that one contestant gave a goodbye speech during last night’s show.

The popular BBC dance contest aired its main show on Sunday night as a result of a schedule shake-up, owing to the 2022 World Cup.

He was left downhearted when he chatted to Claudia

Viewers of the show have been left convinced that Will Mellor believed he was the one who was heading home after he told partner Nancy Xu he was ‘sorry’ after a rather disappointing dance.

Actor Will failed to impress the judges after being one of the standout contestants the past two weeks.

The usually ace couple performed a Paso Doble but struggled to attain a high score with judge Shirley Ballas admitting to the pair: “There were quite a few things missing.”

Shirley told Will and Nancy of the performance: “It collapsed every time you picked her up. The arms were too straight when they were out to the side.

“These are basic fundamentals from the very, very beginning, and they were very much missing from me.”

Will was clearly taken aback by her criticisms as he looked uncomfortable hearing the judging panel’s feedback.

As the pair headed up to chat to host Claudia Winkleman, a visibly upset Will told her he felt ‘rubbish’ after ‘letting’ Nancy down.

The star, who appeared unusually downbeat, remarked: “I worked hard and I let her [Nancy] down a little bit there, I am not fishing for compliments.

“She told me right and I’ve just gone too aggressive and she told me to be calm.”

Fans at home appeared concerned that Will appeared to be acting as if he has sealed his own fate and was preparing to bow out of the contest as a result of his mishaps.

As the scores rolled in, Will told Nancy he was ‘sorry’, as he appeared to hint to her that they would be heading home.

One fan wrote online: “Will really uncomfortable standing there taking criticism and who wouldn’t be #Strictly.”

Another added: “Will has well and truly been screwed over tonight.”

A third added: “Will can’t take criticism. Bottom lips going #strictly,” as a fourth said: “Will to go this week. His time is up.”
