Su Pollard believes she’s being haunted by Dennis the Menace glove puppet

Actress from 'Hi-De-Hi!' convinced puppet is inhabited by ghost of former co-star

TV star Su Pollard, known for her role in 'Hi-De-Hi!', is convinced that she is being haunted by a Dennis the Menace glove puppet given to her by a former co-star. She believes that the Beano character toy is inhabited by the ghost of Barry Howard, who played dance teacher Barry Stuart-Hargreaves in the 1980s BBC holiday camp sitcom while Su played chalet maid Peggy.

Barry Howard's presence felt through moving puppet

Barry Howard passed away in 2016 at the age of 78, but Su Pollard claims she still feels his presence. She shared that she often sees the puppet move, specifically when she places it on the newel post of her staircase before leaving the house. Su believes that Barry is sending her messages of encouragement through the puppet's movements, urging her to keep moving forward.

Su Pollard finds comfort in the supernatural

Despite skepticism from some, Su Pollard embraces the idea of being visited by the spirit of her late co-star. She finds comfort in the belief that Barry Howard's presence is looking out for her and offering support. Currently on tour with her one-woman show 'Still Fully Charged', Su Pollard remains a firm believer in the supernatural and its ability to provide solace to those who experience it.
