Game show fans left disappointed
ITV has shocked fans of The Chase this week as it has been pulled from the TV schedule. Viewers are set to be livid as the popular game show has been culled due to ITV's continuing coverage of the Rugby World Cup. However, fans of the Bradley Walsh-fronted show can still enjoy it on all other days this week.
Changes to the schedule
The rugby coverage will air from 4pm until 7pm, followed by Emmerdale in its usual slot. Tipping Point fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the show will still be on screen, but at the earlier time of 3pm. However, the show has been dramatically cut short and will now only run for 25 minutes. Following Tipping Point, ITV's Main Evening News will air at 3:25pm.
Exciting news for game show lovers
Although The Chase has been taken off the schedule, there is some good news for game show fans. Joel Dommett's In With A Shout is set to return to ITV1 for a second series. In addition, a one-off celebrity special of the show has been commissioned for next year's Soccer Aid. This popular game show, hosted by a celebrity, sees two families battle against each other with a hidden twist. Contestants have just sixty seconds to answer questions hidden within a montage of moving images, adding pressure and excitement to the game.
