FANS of The Chase were left fuming following a recent episode of the show, after a contestant ‘sabotaged’ his team.
The ITV gameshow – which is hosted by Bradley Walsh – sees four contestants take to the studio floor in a bid to win a huge cash prize if they manage to defeat the Chaser.
On Tuesday night’s episode, Bradley introduced Daniel, Nicola, Bobby and Adam, who were all put up against Paul Sinha.
First up to play the game was Daniel, who was confident in the first round of the cash-builder.
He racked up a hefty £6,000 in the quick-fire round, and impressed Paul – also known as the Sinnerman – too.
When at the table facing the chaser, Daniel was offered a whopping £30,000 as a high offer from Paul.
And despite his cashbuilder being £6,000, he was only offered £1,000 as his low offer.
Daniel instantly asked his team, who were confident in his abilities, praising the high offer.
Team-mate Adam told Daniel: “I think £6,000 is a great cash-builder, so just get back on the team.”
Bobby added: “It was a great start, you were very good but we need bums on seats so get back with the £6,000.”
Nicola advised: “That first round was amazing, but we do need you back here.”
Turning back to Bradley, Daniel was torn, saying: “Ugh, the £30,000 is good, but even £1,000 is a lot of money.”
He then shocked everyone by saying: “I think I will take the £1,000,” throwing away the £6,000 he’d just earned with his impressive knowledge.
Those who turned into the episode were not impressed with Daniel after he went against all of his team-mates’ advice.
It didn’t take long for them to head to Twitter to air their frustrations.
One wrote: “Honestly, what is the point of going on #thechase being 1st up getting a quite respectable 6K in you’re cash builder and then taking the LOW offer of a grand???”
Others were annoying with him also, as one wrote: “Hope they all go low now so Daniel doesn’t steal anything…”
Another added: “What? You expect me to congratulate Daniel for making it through?
“He took the low offer. And he’s only the FIRST PLAYER in the team.”
As another fan fumed: “If you take the low offer you deserve to be kicked out. Sabotage.”
