THE Chase’s Anne Hegerty revealed her Governess outfit would be very raunchy if she’d got her way.
The quizzer, 63, was shut down by show bosses after suggesting some X-rated additions to her stern look.
She told BBC Radio Manchester: “I really would like my costume to include high heels, fishnet stockings and a whip, but they don’t seem to want to go for that.”
Before that was rebuffed she eyed a sophisticated high-end style worlds away from the frumpy grey she now finds herself in.
She said: “They sent me with our fashion stylist to a shop to try on some clothes, and the stylist took some pictures and sent them back to the producer.
“When I got back to the studio the producer said, ‘Did you have a nice shopping trip?’
“And I said, ‘Oh, yes. I think I’m going to have a nice, little, navy Chanel trouser suit,’ and she said, ‘I think you’re not.’
“I went, ‘OK,’ and then I saw what they were going to put me in and I was like, ‘Right, well, clearly there’s going to be no room for vanity here.’
“It’s actually quite an expensive Italian fashion house, it’s just I manage to make it look as if it’s been bought from a charity shop.”
Anne, who has also appeared in I’m A Celebrity, initially found fame in 2010 when she joined the second series of The Chase.
The quiz boffin chose her nickname herself over the original suggestion “The Headmistress” as she claimed it was “more kinky”.
Her steely demeanour and withering putdowns of hapless contestants have earned Anne the nickname “Frosty Knickers” on the show.
She is also a hit down under, appearing on the Aussie version of the show.
