The Undoing fans blast ‘predictable’ finale and rage ‘where’s the twist?!’ as Elena’s murderer FINALLY revealed

VIEWERS of The Undoing have blasted the “predictable” finale, raging “where’s the twist?!” as Elena’s murderer is FINALLY revealed.

The murder mystery has gained a huge following thanks to its all star cast, including Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, and its incredible “whodunit” plot.

Fans of the show were disappointed to learn who the killer was during the dramatic ending

However, fans of the show were left disappointed last night after tuning in to see exactly who had killed Elena Alves and discovering a very predictable culprit.

One wrote: “Meh… Always seemed  like it had to be him. Anyone else would have been a lame twist. Terrific cast, let down by predictable outcome…”

“I feel like #TheUndoing should’ve ended better I mean it was predictable from the jump I honestly expected a shocking twist,” added another.

A third penned: “Boo on the incredibly predictable ending to The Undoing. Disappointing.”

Fans raged they were expecting a shocking twist from the ending

One viewer called the writing of the show ‘lazy’

Fans called the finale ‘predictable’

“The finale of The Undoing was very predictable and underwhelming. So disappointing!,” agreed a fourth.

After many weeks of twists and turns with growing speculation over who the murderer could be, with fingers pointing at Nicole Kidman’s character Grace, her husband Jonathan [Hugh Grant], and even their teenage son, Henry, it turned out to be the most obvious person.

It was Jonathan! Who would have thought nice, children’s cancer surgeon Jonathan would be the killer? Well turns out, everyone.

The disgraced doctor, who was having an affair with Elena, beat his lover to death with a hammer after she told him she wanted to get close to his family.

It’s always the husband!

Hugh Grant got busy with a hammer to murder his mistress Elena

Flashbacks showed that on that fateful night, Jonathan and Elena had sex and she talked about getting close to Grace and Henry, which caused him to get violent.

After repeatedly slamming her head against a wall he walked away but Elena came after him with a hammer.

Seeing her coming, he grabbed the weapon out of her hands and smashed her over the head with it. Not only that but he rained down so many blows on her face it was left unrecognisable.

Together in the car, Henry turned to his father and said: “You murdered a person, dad,” to which Jonathan replies, “Not the real me. Not the dad you know.”

After Henry failed to show up to school and Jonathan at court, the police and Grace realised something was up.

Fans have gone wild for the Sky Atlantic show

The all star cast included Notting Hill actor Hugh Grant

The episode ended with a tense standoff on a bridge with Jonathan preparing to end it all by jumping.

With Henry begging his dad not to kill himself, the police and Grace arrive.

As Grace runs towards her husband and son, yelling, “Stop.” Jonathan looks at her, meeting her eyes.

This causes him to smile and come down. “I’m so sorry,” he says, coming in to hug Grace. But she backs up and takes Henry with her. Jonathan screams their names as the cops take him into custody and Grace flies off in the helicopter with her son and father.
