THIS Morning was in a panic today when Martin Lewis suffered a technical issue and left Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby scrambling to fill the schedule live on air.

Show host Phillip, 60, stepped in an revealed producers had been forced to make last minute changes behind the scenes after the MoneySavingExpert, 50, logged in late for work.

This Morning stars Phil and Holly were left in a panic after promising viewers they could tune in to see Martin at 10.20.

But live TV pro Phil told viewers why they’d experienced delays.

He said: “We’re still waiting for Martin Lewis to turn on his laptop.

“But we’ve switched things around now.”

He couldn’t resist giving Martin a little scolding, and added: “So whenever you’re ready!”

Martin eventually made it on air and nothing more was said about his live hiccup.

He spoke about the energy watchdog Ofgem, whose boss warned that bills will soar to £2,800 a year on average from October.

He spoke about the warm home discount scheme which is available to low-income households, usually on certain benefits, to help with energy bills.
