TOP Gear viewers were left heaving during last night’s episode when hosts Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris sat down to a very, erm, interesting meal.
As Paddy, 48, and Chris, 46, continued the show‘s tour of stunning Iceland in some temperamental old British motors, they pulled over to rest for the night.
But before hitting the hay in a tin-walled lodge, the pair sat down to a “little picnic” in a “Fortnum & Mason hamper”.
And they appeared to have no idea what awaited them…sheep’s head pate, fermented shark, ram’s testicles, reindeer, buried goose – the list went on.
When Paddy caught sight of the unappealing rations, he effed and blinded before storming off from the picnic table and leaving Chris in stitches.
Chris, though, seemed unfazed by the delicacies, getting stuck into the testicles as poor Paddy was left gagging.
The Bolton lad was having none of it and retreated to bed – even though it was half ten at night and their digs had no curtains.
Viewers raced to Twitter in disgust, with one chirping: “It would appear the BBC is undertaking its very own bush tucker challenge. I enjoy sardines on toast but testicles on toast is a no from me”.
A second joked: “I thought I was watching Top Gear not I’m a Celeb. The ram’s testicles”, followed by a sick emoji.
While a third joined in to remark: “Paddy and Chris trying to be strong men and Chris eating Icelandic delicacies”.
Meanwhile, other viewers took to social media site to share their disappointment at the Iceland trip, with one calling it “pointless”.
Another added: “Not the best show tonight…Iceland would have been better with Freddie”.
The viewer was referring to the show’s other host Freddie Flintoff, who Chris and Paddy later joined in the studio to chat about the trip.
Freddie admitted he was gutted he couldn’t be there with the duo, but Paddy quipped that the cricketer had managed to “swerve” three days with Chris.
