TOWIE Star Junaid Opens Up About Mental Health Struggle and Death Threats

TOWIE Star Junaid Reveals Extensive Abuse and Death Threats

TOWIE star Junaid Ahmed has recently spoken out about his secret mental health struggle and the drastic action he has been forced to take. In an exclusive audio obtained by The Celeb Report, the ITVBe star reveals the extensive death threats and abuse he has received from trolls online.

Controversial Appearances on TOWIE

Junaid Ahmed, 28, has been embroiled in several heated arguments on the long-running reality show, including with the likes of Harry Derbidge. However, in a new interview on the Secure The Insecure podcast, Junaid admits that the character viewers see on the show is not a complete reflection of who he is in his personal life.

A Victim of Online Abuse

During the podcast, Junaid shares, "In the past week or so, like, I’ve been getting death threats like there’s no tomorrow, and like… Just abuse and everything. And it’s been hard, I am a very happy-go-lucky type of person, and I do have this very big heart, and I’m just very passionate about my friendships."

He emphasizes that the audience only sees a small part of him and that the show mainly captures his vulnerable and angry moments with his friends. The online abuse has taken such a toll on him that he had to take a break from social media.

Drastic Measures Taken to Protect Himself

Junaid reveals that he has had to block over 160 accounts in just 24 hours due to the amount of abuse he has received. He acknowledges that being on a public platform means people will have opinions about him, but the level of abuse has become overwhelming.

Mental Health Support

Junaid even sought mental health counseling through the psychologist at ITVBe to help cope with the situation. He admitted, "I had like two days where I just stayed indoors all day. I couldn’t face going out or anything. Like, I spoke to the psych as well at TOWIE. And just really overwhelmed with it all. And then I started going out a few days ago."

Junaid first joined The Only Way Is Essex in 2022 and has since faced significant challenges and scrutiny. Despite the online abuse, he remains determined to protect himself and focus on his mental well-being.
