ITV’S FAN favourite show The Bay is back for more drama and suspense.
The Morecambe-based crime series is now in its fourth season, and DS Jenn Townsend has a new case to tackle.

What is The Bay on ITV about?
As per the previous three seasons, The Bay season four brings the audience a brand new story.
Series 4 focusses on the death of young mum Beth Metcalf, who appears to have been killed in a targeted attack.
DS Jenn Townsend is called to help bereft husband Dean, who is struggling to hold it together with four children to look after.
Meanwhile, back at home, Jenn’s got troubles of her own as, along with Chris, she tries to get to grips with the realities of having a house full of teenagers and a blended family.
When will The Bay on ITV start?
The fourth series will air on both ITV and ITVX.
The Bay starts on March 7, 2023 at 9pm, and will air every Wednesday night at the same time.
Season 4 will concludes on April 12, 2023.
Speaking about the new series, ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill said: “I’m delighted that we will be returning to Morecambe for another series of The Bay.
“Marsha Thomason delivered a brilliant performance as DS Jenn Townsend, and it will be exciting to see where Daragh takes her character in series 4.”
Who will star in The Bay on ITV?
Following leading lady Morven Christie’s exit from the show at the end of season 2, actress Marsha Thomason continues as the leading star, after joining in the third series.
Marsha plays the role of DS Jenn Townsend, Morecambe CID’s Family Liaison Officer.
Series regulars, Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher, Thomas Law and Andrew Dowbiggin also reprise their roles.

Why did Morven Christie leave The Bay?
After two successful series on The Bay, Scottish actress Morven made the decision to leave the show at th end of season 2, without giving a reason.
The show’s producers told ITV: “The show’s producers thank Morven for her brilliant contribution to The Bay and wish her every success for the future.
“While the DNA of the show remains the same, the change of lead offers up the exciting opportunity to place a new character at the centre of the drama and explore the world of Morecambe from a fresh perspective.”
