AMANDA Holden has firmly become the darling of British TV, with shows on all three of the major channels.
She is now back on the box with new series The Holden Girls which is a spoof documentary about life with her “nan” – with many wondering who her REAL gran was.
Who is Amanda Holden’s nan?
Despite Amanda’s nan being called Myrtle on The Holden Girls, in real life she was called Ethel.
The BGT judge had previously revealed her nan worked full-time in administration in an ice cream factory while raising her family.
Amanda took to Instagram in July 2018 to to reveal that her beloved gran had sadly she passed away aged 97.
She wrote: “My darling nanny has left us. She will live in our hearts forever.”

After much-speculation from fans, it has been revealed that Leigh Francis plays Myrtle in The Holden Girls.
The spoof documentary-style show kicked off on E4 on September 8, 2021.
The comedian is of course best known for playing Keith Lemon and his show Celebrity Juice.
Speaking about starring on the show, a spokesperson for Amanda’s “nan”, Myrtle, said: “I have no comment, apart from I’m really hoping being on TV might mean I can finally meet my favourite young man, Ben Shephard.”
What has Amanda said about her real nan?
In the past, Amanda described her nan Ethel as her “ultimate role model”.
Speaking to The Celeb Report in 2017 she said: “My nan has an opinion on everything. From my hair (she prefers me with a fringe) to what I’m wearing on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.
“Nan worked full-time in administration in an ice cream factory while raising a family.
“I can only hope I’m as good a role model to my girls as she has been to me.”
