Musa Motha shared his story and his incredible talent, earning himself a golden buzzer from all four judges.

Who is Musa Motha?

Musa Motha is a 27-year-old professional dancer from Johannesburg, South Africa.

The dancer now lives in London and has made headlines after his debut on Britain’s Got Talent.

Musa amazed the studio audience and the four judges with his beautiful dance routine to Naughty Boy and Beyonce’s track Runnin.

His routine brought tears to many eyes, with many labelling him as inspirational.

The emotional response was because of what happened to him when he was a child.

What happened to Musa Motha?

Musa dreamed of being a professional footballer as a child, playing regularly during his youth.

Sadly, he was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer called Oesteosacorma when he was 11 years old.

To save his life, he had his leg amputated, putting an end to his professional football dreams.

Despite the challenges, he found music and a love of dance, taking up street dancing in 2010.

During his appearance on Britain’s Got Talent he said: “After my amputation, I fell in love with music. My friends, they were dancing at the time and asked them to teach me to dance.

“This is the perfect time to reach out to more people and inspire more people out there.”

Through dance Musa has broken down barriers and has gone on to win awards and feature in music videos.

One such music video is One Dance by Drake.

In 2018 he joined the contemporary dance company Vuyani Dance Theatre in Johannesburg, Newtown, South Africa.

With the company he learned how to become a professional dancer, he studied contemporary, afro-fusion, tap dance, and ballet.

What has Musa Motha said about going on Britain’s Got Talent?

The talented South African appeared on Britain’s Got Talent stage using his crutches.

His conversation with the judges before his performance was genuine and heartfelt.

Simon Cowell asked Musa how long it took to prepare for this audition, to which he replied: “Since I think forever.

“I’ve been imagining myself on stage and now it’s happening.”

When he received the golden buzzer and the deafening applause from the studio audience Musa dropped to the floor with emotion.

After being hugged and congratulated by all the judges Musa said:

“I’m a true believer and a true example of breaking the word impossible into two.

“I am possible. I thank you so much.”

When is Britain’s Got Talent final?

The live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent start on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 8 pm to 10 pm.

The semi-final shows continue nightly for the week leading up to the final.

The final of Britains Got Talent is on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
