Tony Blair is played by actor Bertie Carvel in The Crown season five.
Carvel is also expected to continue playing the character forward into season six as well.
On playing Blair, Carvel told iNews: “Actors are a different kind of truthtellers from historians or journalists.
“I can’t tell the whole truth of Tony Blair through whatever Peter Morgan chooses to write about him in seasons 5 and 6, but I can offer an insight or a way of looking at that story differently.”
Tony Blair served as the Prime Minister of the UK from 1997 to 2007 and Leader of the Labour Party from 1994 to 2007.
He resigned as the PM in 2007 and was succeeded by Gordon Brown.

He married barrister and writer Cherie Booth in 1980. Booth later became a Queen’s Counsel.
Cherie is played by actor Lydia Leonard in The Crown.
What is Bertie Carvel known for?
This is not the first time Carvel has appeared in The Crown – he played journalist and broadcaster Robin Day in the season two episode Marionettes.
Many drama fans will recognise Carvel as Simon, the unfaithful husband of Suranne Jones’s title character in the BBC One series Doctor Foster.
His other credits include Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Baghdad Central and Dalgliesh, while he has also appeared in shows such as Doctor Who and Sherlock.
Carvel also had a cameo in the 2012 film Les Miserables, where he appeared as Bamatabois.
He also played Nick Clegg in the Channel 4 drama Coalition.
Is Bertie Carvel married and does he have children?
Bertie is married to actress Sally Scott.
They tied the knot on January 5, 2019, after dating for ten years.
Carvel told The Times that he met Sally through mutual friends.
He said: “We met in 2009 through some close friends who introduced us.”
