STARSTRUCK proved to be a huge hit for ITV, when it burst onto the scene in 2022.

The talent show – which sees contestants dress up like their favourite singer – is back for season two, but some fans may wonder who won the first series.

The grand finale of the hit ITV show Starstruck 2022 saw a heated competition with amazing performances from all the finalists.

But one contestant stood out and captured the hearts of the judges, the public and the voting audience.

The lucky winner of 2022’s show was Rachael Hawnt.

She wowed the in-studio audience with her transformation into legendary singer Cher.

Speaking after her win, Rachel told host Olly Murs: “The final was really nerve wracking – the talent there was amazing.”

“It’s been pretty crazy. I still can’t get through all the messages, it’s just been mind blowing.”

When was the final of Starstruck?

The final of Starstruck took place at 8.30pm on Saturday, April 2, 2022 on ITV, just after Saturday Night Takeaway.

Starstruck saw ordinary members of the public with exceptional talent team up to transform into some of the world’s biggest music icons.

Over the course of seven weeks, a group of singers shed their normal persona and become global superstars.

Rachel bagged herself a massive cash prize of £50K.

She was voted the winner by the studio audience, as there is no outside voting.

However, some viewers of the show felt their lack of say on the winner was unfair.
