How the scene featuring pub landlord Mick Carter and Prince Charles might look

They are introduced by Danny Dyer’s character Mick Carter as surprise guests to Albert Square’s jubilee street party.

In the scene, Mick says to the Prince of Wales: “Welcome to your great-great-great-grandmother’s boozer.”

But it is not clear what the prince says in reply.

The episode will air on Thursday, June 2.

Actress Kellie Bright, 45, who plays Mick’s wife Linda, said: “I did think what amazing sports that they’re just willing to do it.

“It must have been nerve-racking for them and completely out of their norm. So I just hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.”

The BBC1 soap’s executive producer Chris Clenshaw said: “We are truly honoured to have both The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall appear in what is set to be one of EastEnders’ most special episodes.

“Linda Carter is naturally in her element and giddy with excitement as their Royal Highnesses arrive in Walford but it wasn’t just her, as for all of us it was an extremely special day that will go down in EastEnders’ history.”

Sources say Charles and Camilla, who also met Sonia Fowler actress Natalie Cassidy, both speak on the show but it has not been revealed what they say.

The scene was filmed in March

Earlier this year, Danny, 44, who learned on BBC1 show Who Do You Think You Are? that he is a direct descendant of Edward III, said: “Very random to see the royals, you know.

“Up close they’re very charming, really chatty. They’ve got mad faces when you’re close.”

Prince Charles’s mother is the Queen.

Her father — Charles’s grandfather — was George VI.

His father, and Charles’s great-grandfather, was George V, whose own dad — and Charles’s great-great-grandfather — was Edward VII.

And his mother was Queen Victoria — making her Charles’s great-great-great-gran.
