Eamonn Holmes takes swipe at ‘sneaky’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and says royal tension “hasn’t gone away”

EAMONN Holmes has branded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘sneaky’ after their unexpected visit to see The Queen before the Invictus Games.

Speaking on his GB News Breakfast show this morning, the opinionated 62 year-old host didn’t mince his words when it came to discussing the divisive royal couple.

Eamonn told his co-host Isabel Webster that he felt there was a “sneaky nature with which they got into the country last week”.

The former This Morning presenter also revealed that he didn’t believe the hush hush flying visit had done anything to ease the well-documented tensions with the royal family.

Harry and Meghan‘s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last year sent shockwaves around the world, as allegations of racism and lack of support over suicidal feelings coming out during the chat.

Eamonn said: “People hear that Harry is going to write a book in which he’s going to slag off his dad and his step-mum as well, so it all hasn’t gone away.”

The host then went on to claim Harry is perhaps too much like his father for his own liking.

The Northern Irish broadcaster mused: “The funny thing is, I noticed Harry during an interview at the Invictus Games Harry was so like his father.

“He doesn’t want to be like his father, but he sits there and he says ‘I think what is happening here, it’s extraordinary, extraordinary.’

“He keeps using the word extraordinary, which is a favourite word of Prince Charles, when he talks about things. He is more like his father than he would probably like to be.”

Eamonn is of course no stranger to saying what he thinks.

He recently caused a stir by slamming his former fellow This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield.

Eamonn opened up about his real feelings toward Schofe, branding him ‘passive aggressive’.

Speaking about their time on This Morning, Eamonn told The Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine: “Phillip is renowned for snubbing people.

“He’s very passive-aggressive. It’s up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her. No one would have snubbed me like that.”
