EastEnders Linda Carter makes a shock decision this week

The Queen Vic landlady – who is played by actress Kellie Bright in the BBC soap – dropped the bombshell that she is pregnant last month.

Mick was thrilled by the prospect, but was soon brought down to earth with a thump when Linda broke the bad news that it isn’t his baby – it’s Max Branning’s.

And this week, the pair decide to keep the baby and lie that Mick is the father.

In scenes set to air this week, Mick promises to meet Linda at her scan but he panics after a chat with Nancy, who reveals that Mick is feeling anxious about Lina having Max’s baby.

Linda revealed that she was pregnant with Max’s baby last month

When Mick realises he’s late for Linda’s scan, he jumps into a taxi and meets Jeanette the driver, who’s pregnant herself.

Disaster strikes, however, when Jeanette’s waters break and Mick is forced to take the wheel, driving her to hospital.

Mick is forced to miss Linda’s appointment and help deliver the baby.

Linda tells Mick that she will put the baby up for adoption

Later, as Mick apologises to Linda, she makes a shock announcement that she will put the child up for adoption.

Mick insists he’ll love the baby despite everything, despite his fears of whether he will love the baby.

But Linda is concerned about Max wanting to be involved and tells Mick to pretend that he is the dad.

The pair later agree to lie and say the baby is Mick’s

Back at the Vic, Linda and Mick announce that Mick is going to be a father again – leaving Nancy worried about her dad’s decision.

Will Mick be able to continue the lie about him being the father? Or will it all get too much for him?

EastEnders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
