GMB’s Alex Beresford forced to apologise to to the Queen as he’s slated by hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins

GOOD Morning Britain star Alex Beresford didn’t get a day off today – being taken to task by both Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins.

The pair objected to the fact he was presenting from Buckingham Palace but hadn’t put a tie on.

Charlotte Hawkins told him: “One thing has been noted about your appearance today Alex.

“It’s the lack of a tie. I mean, hello? You’re right by Buckingham Palace.”

Adil Ray, who is fronting the show with Charlotte today, added: “I mean come on. Where’s the tie?”

Alex folded his arms and looked off camera before turning back and joking: “Off with his head. I’m so sorry. I will go and find a tie.”

He added: “If her Majesty is watching – I’m so sorry.”

Charlotte told him: “You should apologise. We’ve got our best tea set out here and everything and you’re not even wearing a tie. Honestly.”

Adil reassured the Good Morning Britain weather presenter: “You look great mate. You always look great.”

Alex was out at the miniature studio ITV have secured for coverage of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Much of today’s schedule has been turned over to royal talking points, with Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning all running special editions.

The UK is enjoying the first day of a long four day weekend to showcase the impact of the Queen‘s decades-long reign.

Princess Elizabeth became Queen on February 6, 1952 – the day her father King George VI died. Therefore February 6, 2022, will mark 70 years on the throne.

It is the first time any British monarch has reached this historic milestone.
