GOOD Morning Britain star Alex Beresford has told his fans he is “exhausted” by people “still talking about Meghan Markle”.
The TV host took to social media to discuss the news that the Duchess of Sussex’s half-brother Thomas Jr would appear on Big Brother VIP.
ITV presenter Alex, 40, took to Twitter to ask why people are “still talking” about Meghan as she and husband Prince Harry “get on with their lives”.
“Man! Are we still talking about Meghan Markle whilst she is simultaneously getting on with her life?” he asked on Friday afternoon.
Alex continued to his followers: “In fact most are getting on with theirs, bar a few who want to keep the narrative going. Exhausting!”
He went on to slam Thomas Jr, concluding: “I hope her Big Brother thanks her for his Big Brother appearance fee.”
Many of Alex’s fans flocked to the comments to agree with him, clapping back against Thomas Jr for his comments about her on reality TV.
“Imagine your only claim to fame being that you are related to someone famous who achieved something with her life,” one person wrote.
Another agreed: “Some people just don’t know when to let it go and leave her alone! She’s getting on with her life, and good for her.”
“It’s no wonder she wants nothing to do with them,” a third said of Meghan’s dad’s side of the family – who she hasn’t contacted in recent years.
It comes after news broke that Meghan’s half brother, Thomas Jr, had joined the cast of Big Brother VIP, and slated the Duchess in his promo clip.
Thomas, who is the son of Meghan’s father Thomas Markle, said: “I’m Meghan Markle’s brother, I’m the biggest brother of them all.”
He scathingly added in the shocking video: “‘I told Prince Harry, ‘I think she’s going to ruin your life’. She’s very shallow.”
The window cleaner sent a letter to the Royal ahead of his wedding day, telling him it was “not too late to cancel” his marriage to Meghan.
Thomas Jr, 55, will appear on the Australian TV show alongside stars like Caitlyn Jenner, with reports revealing he is to be paid for his appearance.
Meghan is bracing for fresh embarrassment and controversy as her outspoken older brother heads in the Aussie version of Celebrity Big Brother.
Thomas was arrested on January 12, 2017, in Oregon for allegedly holding a gun to a woman’s head during a drunken argument.
Meg already has a strained relationship with her dad, Thomas Markle Sr, and step-brother, stemming from her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
Thomas Jr was snubbed from the ceremony and at the time said he hadn’t seen his sister for around seven years.
It’s not the first time that TV presenter Alex has stepped in to defend Meghan, as he famously clashed with Piers Morgan live on air this year.
Piers, 56, quit the ITV breakfast show after clashing heads with his co-host over Meghan’s mental health claim in her iconic Oprah Winfrey interview.
As he walked out of the studio in March, Alex was heard saying: “This is pathetic. Absolutely diabolical behaviour.”
