GMB’s Alex Beresford risks reigniting Piers Morgan feud by defending Prince Harry after star called him a ‘spoiled brat’

GOOD Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford risked reigniting his feud with former colleague Piers Morgan as the weatherman defended Prince Harry on Twitter.

Piers, 56, branded the Duke of Sussex a “spoiled brat” on Twitter yesterday for “yapping” about his personal life on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast.

In light of the broadcaster’s rant, Alex weighed in on Prince Harry’s interview and said that the “beauty” of his appearance on the podcast was hearing him share his experience in his own words.

He tweeted: “The beauty of a podcast is that you can hear the way it was said. Did you listen or did you read the media summaries.”

The TV star then appeared to write a thinly-veiled dig at Piers, adding: “Side note: It is possible to love Prince Harry with the same heart that you love the Royal Family with.”

However, Alex’s tweet divided followers with one writing: “Sorry but Harry simply cannot keep harping on about this!

Weatherman Alex spoke out in defense of the Royal

“If he feels his life is like the Truman show, surely he’d stop talking about his life!? This is absolute nonsense and indefensible.”

While another agreed with Alex and commented: “I just wish people would leave them be.

“As adults we develop our own values and choose which of our parents values to leave behind.

“His choices to move away was always going to upset some, but the hatred shown to both H and M by some is vile. Everyones choices are valid. Be kind”.

Yesterday, Piers slammed Prince Harry today for “yapping about his private life” after the royal said it was “like The Truman Show”.

Piers was clearly irked after Harry compared his life to the Jim Carrey film in which the main character’s every action is broadcast to the world without his knowledge.

The journalist fumed on Twitter: “For a guy who craves privacy, Prince Harry sure is yapping a lot about his private life…”

And he let rip again minutes later, this time focusing on Harry’s criticism of his dad Prince Charles.

The broadcaster didn’t hold back when he tweeted yesterday

Harry said he suffered from “genetic pain” as Charles brought him up the same way he had been fathered by the Queen and Prince Philip.

The star tweeted: “How many more times is this spoiled brat going to publicly trash the Dad who’s bankrolled him his entire life?”

Piers quit GMB in March after refusing to apologise for saying he didn’t believe Meghan Markle’s comments about mental health in the bombshell interview she and Harry gave to Oprah Winfrey.

At the time, weatherman Alex sensationally clashed with Piers over his comments live on-air, which led presenter Piers to storm off set.

Last month, Alex returned to social media and revealed how he was “subjected to relentless racism” on Twitter in the aftermath of his argument with Piers.

Writing for The Telegraph, he said: “I haven’t announced it (like the former Arsenal player Thierry Henry did this week when he publicly quit social media, in response to anonymous racist bullying) but I have been forced to step away from Twitter and Facebook myself, because it was getting too much.

“I am a strong person, but I am not made of steel.”
