Harry and Meghan ‘concerned’ about Archie & Lilibet being ‘digital experiments’ in ‘world of hatred & harm’

PRINCE Harry and Meghan have revealed they are “concerned” about Archie and Lilibet being “digital experiments” in a “world of hatred and harm”.

It came as the Duke of Sussex today helped to launch an “online safety toolkit” for children.

Harry spoke to young people from around the world

Harry spoke at the online event titled Making Child Online Safety a Reality with young people around the world – and shared his fears in regard to his kids.

The Duke told those tuned in that he hopes 18-month-old Lilbet and Archie, three, will “never have to experience the internet as it exists now”.

The dad-of-two explained: “As parents, my wife and I are concerned about the next generation growing up in a world where they are treated as digital experiments for companies to make money and where things like hatred and harm are somehow normalised.”

It is not known whether Harry received a fee for his appearance, but experts have previously said they could be earning upwards of a million pounds per speech after they signed up with an elite agency.

He and Meghann last year joined New York-based Harry Walker Agency – the same as their pal Serena Williams and the Obamas to help fund their new luxury lifestyle.

PR expert Mark Borkowski told The Celeb Report the pair will “clean up”.

He said: “I’m surprised they haven’t done this sooner. It will be one of the great income generators for them.

“The speaker’s circuit is a natural safe space for them to plunder.”

Harry’s appearance comes amid another busy few weeks for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As the month began, Meghan’s upcoming Netflix series was quietly dumped.

Pearl – which followed the story of a 12-year-old girl exploring famous women in history – was set to be the pair’s Archewell Production’s first animated series for the streaming giant.

But it was binned as part of cutbacks amid a collapse in subscribers, Deadline reported.

Meanwhile, it’s claimed the couple’s multi-million pound mega-deal with Netflix is at risk after they pitched “boring” ideas.

An industry source said: “The pressure will be on them to come up with a hit.”

Days later, the Sussexes celebrated Archie’s third birthday – and announced they will be returning to the UK as a family for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

However, The Celeb Report exclusively revealed only working royals will be allowed to greet the crowds from the balcony – meaning the couple and Prince Andrew are banned.

The family’s trip will mean baby Lilibet can meet the Queen and Charles for the first time.

It was then reported that Harry had irritated Netflix chiefs by giving an exclusive interview to rivals at NBC.

Insiders said there was a “real sense of annoyance” when he told reporters at the Invictus Games that he wants to “protect” the Queen by ensuring she has the “right people” around her.
