KATE Middleton may be the future Queen but has she been taking fashion tips from the Queen of style herself, Victoria Beckham?
According to a fashion expert, the Duchess of Cambridge is morphing into the former Spice Girl with her sartorial choices – and has been copying Victoria’s love of bold colours.
Fashion editor Harriet Davey told Fabulous: “Kate Middleton has found her muse, and of course it’s going to be a British fashion designer.
“VB has gone back to her colour blocking roots and it looks like Kate is following suit, although she keeps it more safe.
“Colour blocking is always a bold style statement (no matter how many colours you clash) but the difference is, Victoria Beckham is more brave with her fashion choices.
“Choosing to clash not one, not two but three colours.”
Harriet pointed out that Kate prefers to stick to one colour palette and runs it throughout her entire outfit in different tones.
She continued: “This is a styling trick that works from the runway to real life and it’s often used by stylists to create an effortless, chic and fail-safe outfit that never fails to impress.
“Meghan Markle has also been known to wear the matchy-matchy colour block look.”
Victoria and Kate’s friendship actually goes back years, with the Beckhams being invited to Kate’s 2011 royal wedding as Harry’s 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle.
Kate’s beautiful wardrobe is partly down to stylist Natasha Archer, who has worked with the duchess since 2014.
She will typically assess any trends from the seasons ahead, and then discuss any styles, prints and patterns with Kate before approaching designers.
While Natasha was on maternity leave, Kate sought out the help of former Vogue editor Virginia Chadwyck-Healey.
A royal source told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: “Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon.
“She has made a big difference to the Duchess’s wardrobe for public engagements and has helped give her a whole new sense of confidence.
“Catherine has been really impressed and is very grateful for her help.”
Ginnie is an old friend of Prince William and Kate, with the two women studying history of art at St Andrews together.
