How to more than double your holiday in 2022 thanks to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

NEXT year promises to be a getaway bonanza as millions finally take a post-pandemic holiday – and here’s how to more than DOUBLE your time off.

Simply booking 23 days of annual leave in the same week as bank holidays will give a mega 54 days off work.

Use your holiday sensibly and you will get extra time off work

We’ve been given an extra bank holiday in 2022 to celebrate the Queen’s 70-year Platinum Jubilee.

This takes place on Friday, June 3 and the annual Spring Bank Holiday — usually the last Monday in May — has been moved to Thursday, June 2, to give us a bumper four-day break to commemorate Her Majesty’s milestone in style.

As Covid restrictions continue to ease, families will be able to visit relatives and friends around the UK.

And many will also look to head abroad for the first time in three years, with holiday firms expecting a flurry of bookings.

The end of most Covid testing requirements before, during and after trips overseas means double-jabbed Brits now usually need just a £30 lateral flow test after returning home.

Alan Price, of BrightHR, said: “You can stretch your time off by booking annual leave around bank holidays.

“It’s best to book annual leave early — as your workmates may have the same idea.”

Our guide to enjoying some extra lazy days, only works if your workplace gives you weekends and bank holidays off.

Make the most of 2022 and get away for a much needed break, or two…
