I have a giant head of the QUEEN in my garden – I love it but not everyone agrees

THE owner of a giant Queen’s head has told how he loves the bizarre garden feature – even though not everyone agrees.

Ben Bennett, 89, baffled neighbours when he planted two huge terracotta busts of Her Majesty and Prince Philip back in 2016.

The royal fan said passersby in Windsor, Berks., will always stop to take pictures of the 12ft moulds, which have since sunk into the earth.

Taking pride of place on Mr Bennett’s front lawn, they were initially put up to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

But as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee gets underway, the moulds are attracting more attention than ever.

Mr Bennett told The Celeb Report: “I’ve had literally thousands of children come to have their photograph taken with them – they stand to attention unprompted and it’s quite amusing.

“They are in need of repair but they are now a landmark.

“I was in Oxford the other week and a woman said to me that she recognised the house as ‘the house with the heads,’ as she saw it on Google. I like them.”

Pictures of the heads recently went viral online, and although many have praised the quirky instalments, others have questioned their royal likeness.

One person compared Philip to former England legend Bobby Charlton while another wrote: “Absolutely bizarre.”

But Mr Bennett was instantly taken by the faces, which he stumbled upon when he was offered the chance to clear out an empty building in London.

The dad-of-five said he found the royals on a “mock-tropical garden” at the front of the building and was told “those heads are to go”.

Speaking from inside his colourful and quirky home, he explained: “They were on a trailer and so I said to get a Land Rover and we had a police escort as we drove down the M4 with them.

“We came all the way down through Windsor and we got a crane to lower them down.

“They’re still on the trailer but it’s now sunk into the ground.”

Philip said he met Prince Philip “several times” when he was still alive while the Queen herself had once driven by and smiled.

He is also looking forward to the Jubilee weekend – and has offered the chance for anyone interested to swing by his Windsor garden.

“If anyone wants to come and have their photograph taken with them on the Jubilee days, they’re more than welcome,” Mr Bennett said.

“I’m not interested in money but if anyone did donate I would give the money to charity.”
