I’m a body language expert – the way Prince William showed he is ‘playmate first’ to 3 kids in sweet Father’s Day post

AN ADORABLE photo of Prince William laughing with his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis has been unveiled for Father’s Day.

And a body language expert has revealed how the sweet picture shows how the future heir is “playmate first” for his kids.

This sweet photo has been released for Father’s Day of the Cambridge family in Jordan last year

George, Charlotte and Louis delighted royal fans at the recent Jubilee celebrations

The snap shows cheeky son Louis, four, perched on William’s shoulders, as the dad-of-three puts his arms protectively around a giggling Charlotte, seven, and George, eight.

The photo was taken by mum Kate Middleton as the family visited Jordan in a top-secret trip last year.

Judi James said the photo “emphasises a sense of freedom and fun for William and his children.”

Speaking to Fabulous, the body language pro said: “Small children don’t lie with their body language and the reactions of Charlotte, George and Louis are telling us all that their dad is a playmate primarily and even a bit of a climbing frame secondly.

“Louis sits holding his dad’s ears while Charlotte and George lean into his lap in the most natural and authentic way.

“This pose emphasises a sense of freedom and fun for William and his children, which seems to quite naturally be values he finds important to project after Harry’s pitch about only ‘Finding Freedom’ for himself and his children when he went to live in the US.”

Judi also pointed out that the “symmetry” of the pose is also “telling”.

She explained: “William might be in the middle but the children are dominant and evenly arranged, with none of the status hierarchy that we often get with royal family poses.

“There’s also a feeling that William has happily surrendered himself to the role of dad now. “Previous official photos have seen him boasting his ‘Action man’ credentials by sitting on a motorbike etc. but here he is shown as almost one of the kids.

“His role is clearly not just playful though: the way he spreads his arms out around the shoulders of his two eldest children is a quiet but powerful hint of his ongoing desire to protect them, too.”

Judi continued that William’s eyes and facial expressions focused intently on his wife Kate also reveals their bond.

She said: “His smile looks a little bashful but his softened eye expression and that very slightly suppressed smile make this as much a message of love for her as it does love of his children.”

The photo was released by Kensington Palace to mark Father’s Day, and a source said of the pic: “It captures their bond perfectly.

“They are all laughing and smiling and having a great time together.

“It was released for Father’s Day, which is a very important day for William and Kate.”

A photo from their Jordan trip also featured on their 2021 Christmas card.

Wills, 40 on Tuesday, and wife Kate will spend today with the trio and catch up with their dads, Charles and Michael.

The snap comes just a fortnight after Louis stole the show on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The young Prince beamed and chatted to his great-grandmother as they watched the sensational show.
