BORIS Johnson’s new wife Carrie has been brushing shoulders with everyone from the Queen to the President of the United States at the G7 summit this weekend.
But the stylish mum-of-one proved that it isn’t necessary to spend a fortune to look the part, thanks to her RENTING nearly all of her show-stopping outfits.
In fact, Carrie Johnson, 33, debuted a wardrobe that would have cost £3,755 but she managed to hire it all for £217.
This follows Carrie opting to hire her gorgeous boho £2,900 bohemian gown by fashion designer Christos Costarellos, which she rented for less than £45 when she tied the knot with the Prime Minister last month.
The newly-wed Carrie certainly ensures all eyes are on her with her eye-catching looks – but it is incredible that she is promoting sustainable fashion in the process.
Here are her G7 looks and how much money she saved by choosing to hire them….
Mustard midi
Cost £265 – Spent £8
For her debut look in Cornwall, Carrie arrived in a £265 mustard yellow midi by Alice Early.
However, she rented the striking look from My Wardrobe HQ for just £8 for the day.
This was the same website that provided her wedding dress, and has a huge selection of clothing pieces, including jumpsuits and ball gowns, that could cost up to £250 a day to rent.
Fuschia dress
Cost £1,400 – Spent £24
Earlier in the G7 summit, which is being held at Carbis Bay, the senior advisor to the ocean conservation charity Oceana opted for a bright pink £1,400 dress by Roksanda.
On My Wardrobe HQ, you can hire the dress for just £24 a day – saving you over £1,000.
The look is also available to rent on rental site HURR from £107.
The Vampire’s Wife floral dress
Cost £805 – Spent £17
On Friday night, Carrie wowed in a long floral dress by The Vampire’s Wife for the glamorous do at the Eden Project.
The designer frock is currently reduced by 30 per cent, from £1,150 to £805, on Net-A-Porter – but the new mum handed over a tiny fraction of that.
According to the Daily Mail, she rented the stylish number from HURR, which shows prices starting from £72.
However, My Wardrobe HQ, is currently listing an almost-identical version for just £17 per day.
Blue suit
Cost £990 – Spent £160
For day two of the Summit, Carrie swapped her floral frocks for a bold blue suit – and she looked incredible.
Carrie donned a slim fitting £595 jacket and £395 flared trousers, both by Amanda Wakeley.
These pieces are both available on My Wardrobe HQ for £80 apiece.
Blue floral dress
Cost £295 – Spent £8
On Saturday night, Carrie joined the other First Ladies for a beach barbecue, and one again donned a floral winner.
This time she opted for a £295 blue rented floral dress from Damselfly London, paired with £149 loafers from Air and Grace London.
Again, you can pick up the exact outfit for a fraction of the cost, as Carrie rented it for just £8 from My Wardrobe HQ.
Damselfly London is described as a “slow fashion” and “eco-friendly” brand which is female-founded.
Here’s how you can save cash like Carrie Johnson by renting expensive pieces from designer dresses to furniture.
Plus Carrie Symonds effect sees wedding dress rentals soar by 268 per cent after she married Boris in £45 gown.
And you can now rent expensive designer wedding dresses for as little as £15 for your big day.
