Inside Ghislaine Maxwell’s ‘too small for sex’ bathroom where Prince Andrew accused of foreplay with Virginia Roberts

THE layout of Ghislaine Maxwell’s London house including her “too small for sex” bathroom, where Prince Andrew is accused of foreplay with Virginia Roberts, has been revealed.

Maxwell had previously said her bath was “too small” for sex, after Prince Andrew‘s accuser claimed they were in the tub together.

Planning applications show the inside of Ghislaine Maxwell’s London home, where Prince Andrew was photographed with his arm around the waist of then-17 year old Ms Virginia Roberts

Members of Maxwell’s legal team are said to have climbed into the bath at her mews home, but weren’t persuaded by Miss Roberts’s claim.

The  standard size bath is 5ft 6in by 2ft 4in and boxed in on three sides by two walls and the back of the airing cupboard, floor plans show.

The plans, and more recent images, also don’t show a free-standing Victorian bath tub in the middle of the room, as described by Miss Roberts, The Daily Mail reports.

The 36 sq ft remainder of the room is largely taken up by a bidet, a toilet and a large sink.

It comes amid claims that:

  • Princess Beatrice has “no recollection” of the Pizza Express birthday party Andrew used as his alibi
  • The family who hosted the bash can’t recall if the Duke attended and got no pictures
  • Andrew had a home manicure booked for the afternoon he claimed he dropped Beatrice at the restaurant in Woking, a family diary says
  • A royal protection officer who was said to be on duty and could’ve backed the alibi has since died
  • Housekeepers at Andrew’s home “can’t remember” his movements

In October, explosive documents detailing Maxwell’s sex life were released after she lost a battle to keep them private – including references to allegations made about the duke.

The trove was part of a 2015 defamation lawsuit brought by Jeffrey Epstein‘s trafficking victim Miss Roberts, after Maxwell called her a liar.

The defamation civil case was settled in 2017 in Miss Robert’s favour.

The Prince has always vehemently denied he has had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Ms Roberts.

But Andrew’s “alibi” for the night he was alleged to have had sex with Miss Roberts is in tatters after his daughter Princess Beatrice reportedly said she had “absolutely no recollection” of a Pizza Express birthday party her father claimed to have attended on March 10, 2001.

A layout of Maxwell’s pied-a-terre home from a 1987 planning application, published by The Daily Mail, shows stairs leading to the ground floor, and a door leading to a master bedroom.

Epstein and Maxwell slept there on the Saturday night in question, a source has told the Mail.

A door on the left, where the Duke and Miss Roberts were photographed together, leads to to a study, which is also a second bedroom, and Miss Roberts’s room.

Directly opposite the top of the stairs is the entrance to the bathroom.

In a manuscript of her memoir, Miss Roberts claimed this was “where I led (the Duke)”.

She wrote: “It was a beige marble tiled floor with porcelain Victorian-style bathtub in the middle of the room and nowhere near the size of Jeffrey’s residences.”

She added: “I turned on the taps for the tub and the heat from the water began to steam up the small room .

“Trying to do the best of my youthfulness to try and act seductive, I gradually began to strip off my clothing, piece by piece.

“He loved every second of it as I went over to where he was waiting and watching, then began to undress him.

“We kissed and touched each other before submersing into the hot water, where we both continued to re-enact foreplay.”

She then said they “retired to my bedchambers for the longest ten minutes of my life.”

Members of Maxwell’s legal team have clambered into the bath together fully clothed to see if Miss Roberts’ account stands up, but weren’t convinced, The Mail reports.

Testimony from a former acquaintance of Maxwell’s said: “I have visited the property on several occasions over the years.

“Even by the standards of a small mews house, the bathroom would be described as compact.

“There is no more than a couple of inches between the lavatory, sink and bath . . . to manoeuvre.”

Under oath during Miss Roberts’ defamation action against her, Maxwell said: ‘The tub is too small for any type of activity whatsoever.”

Following Maxwell’s arrest in July, there were calls to make public the contents regarding her relationship with the late financier paedophile.

A section of her court appearance appears to refer to a dinner with Giuffre and Epstein where a name is missing.

The name of guest is redacted but it has been widely reported that Giuffre met Prince Andrew in London.

He was photographed with his arm around Giuffre and Maxwell was also in the shot, in the picture taken at the socialite’s home in the city.

In the deposition, Maxwell was asked about the visit of a guest whose name was redacted to Epstein’s mansion and whether Giuffre was there at the time.

Prince Andrew has admitted staying at the Manhattan property and told the BBC’s Emily Maitlis in his car crash interview with it “was a convenient place to stay”.

The royal was also pictured waving to an unknown girl at the door of the mansion.

The Manhattan circuit court of appeals rejected an argument by Maxwell, 58, that the files could impede her defence and today the tranche of documents was made public.

The former British socialite has pleaded not guilty to helping Epstein recruit and groom underage girls as young as 14 to engage in illegal sexual acts in the mid-1990s, and not guilty to perjury for having denied involvement in any such scheme when she gave her deposition under oath.

Today David Boies, Giuffre’s lawyer, said at the time: “This is a long-time coming and a welcome step towards revealing the evidence of the scope and scale of the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking ring.

“The public should know today’s unsealing is only a small part of the total evidence.

“As the evidence comes out, it will be clear why Ms. Maxwell and others who enabled Jeffrey Epstein are fighting so hard to keep it concealed.

“As our client Virginia Giuffre bravely asserts, they did not act alone.”

Lawyers for Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend and longtime associate, had argued making the deposition public could imperil Maxwell’s ability to get a fair trial, because jurors might hold its contents against her.

“If the unsealing order goes into effect, it will forever let the cat out of the bag,” and “intimate, sensitive, and personal information” about Maxwell might “spread like wildfire across the Internet,” her lawyers said in August.

A trial is scheduled for July 2021.

Maxwell was arrested on July 2 in Bradford, New Hampshire, where authorities said she was hiding on a property she bought in December in an all-cash transaction with her identity shielded.

She is locked up in a Brooklyn jail after the judge in her criminal case called her an unacceptable flight risk.

Epstein killed himself at age 66 in August 2019 at a Manhattan jail while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges announced the previous month.

Epstein once counted U.S. President Donald Trump, former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew as friends. They have not been accused of criminal wrongdoing.
