ROYAL fans were treated to a sneak peek inside Kate Middleton’s family-friendly office at Kensington Palace last year.
According to a royal source, the stunning room has been designed so her adorable kids can feel at home as she works.
A beautiful photo of Duchess of Cambridge showed her in a pink wool-blend Marks & Spencer suit, as she spoke to Catherine Roche, the CEO of the children’s charity Place2Be over the phone on March 19, 2020.
A source told Fabulous Digital: “Her office is very family friendly.
“The comfy pink club chair in Kate’s study is placed near her window seats, which are above the covered radiators pipes.
“They have made-to-measure cushioning for visitors and the children after school who watch mummy at work.
“The office has been designed so that the children can come in and out. It is comfortable and not stuffy.”
The insider confirmed Kate’s intrays are from Nepal and handmade, while her desk is adorned with her collection of Penguin Clothbound Classics.
Each of the books in the series have been individually designed by Corlie Bickford-Smith, and Kate’s collection includes Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility and Middlemarch by George Elliot.
Each of the neatly-stacked books retails at around £11, if you buy them in a bundle of three, for £33.
It is no surprise that the office is filled with classic books as the couple have previously opened up about how they love to read with the little royals, with William revealing they are fans of Julia Donaldson’s Room On The Broom.
While on a trip to Wales, the dad told fellow parents: “I read this to our children all the time.”
And author Julia seems to be a big hit in the Cambridge household, with William previously gushing over her as she received her CBE for services to literature.
He told her The Gruffalo was a big favourite, saying: “Do you realise how many parents you have saved at bedtime?”
Kate has also been spotted leaving Waterstones near their Kensington home with bag full of books after asking staff for children’s titles.
Meanwhile, the source also gave details on Prince William’s working space, as he was pictured on the phone with Paul Farmer of Mind on March 18, 2020.
They said: “William’s room is rather more utilitarian and blokey than Kate’s.
“He has a leather topped desk with a traditional Chinese porcelain lamp complete with tangled wires and cables.
“There are no female touches in his study.”
