Inside Prince Andrew’s royal car collection – from new £80,000 Range Rover to classic Bentley and Land Rovers

PRINCE Andrew has been spotted driving around Buckingham Palace in his new Range Rover – adding another motor to his enviable car collection.

The disgraced Duke of York, 62, has a reputation for his expensive taste, owning a number of luxury motors over the years.

He’s often seen cruising around Windsor to visit the Queen, with claims he uses the trips to make amends for his sex abuse scandal.

Here are some of the motors he’s driven over the years.

Range Rover Sport PHEV

Andrew was first issued his new Ranger Rover Sport Phev in December, although he hasn’t been spotted in it much since.

The green hybrid has tinted windows and a private number plate based on the duke’s Royal title – despite being stripped of his royal patronages earlier this year.

It’s is worth about £80,000, has a 2L engine and comes with 25 miles of range on the electric plug-in, the Daily Mail reports.

The off-roader can take him roughly the distance from his home in Windsor to Buckingham Palace until its next charge.

But its combined electric and fuel engine means it can switch to petrol when the electric motor runs out of charge.

The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 137mph and can accelerate from 0mph to 60mph in just 6.3 seconds.

Bentley Flying Spur

Andrew splashed out an estimated £150,000 on a posh Bentley back in 2015.

He racked up just 11,500 miles in the opulent motor and ended up flogging it for £94,000 in 2018.

The car retained his preferred Barnato Green paintwork and was sold with extras including lambswool rugs, veneered picnic tables and a first aid kit.

The description for the sale read: “It was used by HRH Prince Andrew as his formal means of transport and was registered with his private number plate.”

Luxury SUVs

Last year, Andrew was spotted taking three SUVs in convoy from Windsor to Scotland for a holiday in Balmoral.

The three ‘Chelsea tractors’ each belonged to the duke and carried his personalised number plates, the Daily Mail reported at the time.

One of the cars was a pristine new petrol-powered Land Rover Defender, which costs more than £53,000.

The other two were his Land Rover Discovery (£51,185) and his Range Rover petrol-electric hybrid (£115,000).

A pal told the Mail last year: “It doesn’t seem very eco-friendly.

“It’s not clear why he needed three cars.”
