BEFORE moving into their swanky Los Angeles mansion, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shacked up in Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage.
After moving stateside two years ago, the Duke of Sussex, 38, allowed his cousin, Princess Eugenie and her family to stay at the residence temporarily.

In recent months, however, it has been left unoccupied as Princess Eugenie, 32, opted to split her time between London and Portugal.
It means the house can be used whenever Harry and Meghan, 41, return for a visit with their kids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.
Frogmore Cottage was given to the couple as a gift from The Queen when they got married in 2018.
The five-bedroom house underwent a massive renovation said to cost an estimated £2.4million, paid for by taxpayers.
But in 2020, Prince Harry confirmed that he and his wife had fully paid back the cost of refurbishment.
Here, we take a look inside the idyllic property and how Meghan and Eugenie added their own spin on the interior.
Packed bookshelves and stylish decor
Princess Eugenie, who lived in the cottage briefly, has previously shared glimpses of the home

It’s been reported that Harry, who has always been close to his cousin, reached out to tell her she could move in as it is much bigger than her former cottage at Kensington Palace.
Like many royal homes, very few pictures have been shared but we got glimpses of it when Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, 36, lived there.
Neutral colours appear to be the theme, as seen in a picture of the princess with her best friend, Julia Boinville, where they are seated on a cream sofa in front of a huge blue bookshelf.
The sofa is adorned with cushions featuring red trimmed designs and another one with a blue and white pattern.

Another green cushion appears to be a lovely tribute to Eugenie’s son August, who arrived in 2021, and featured the writing: “August born in February”.
Books such as Blood and Earth by Kevin Bales, which talks about modern-day slavery, and Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code feature prominently on the bookshelf.
In another snap, we see a sweet picture of Jack sitting on an off-white linen sofa and cuddling August.
On Father’s Day this year, Eugenie posted a picture of her husband with their son, laying on a black and red rug in what seems to be a playroom.
When Harry and Meghan visited for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, their friend Camilla Holmstroem shared an adorable picture of the pair with their children taken during Lilibet’s first birthday party.
In the background, a painting, possibly by Matisse hangs on the wall while an ornate rug is spread out on the floor.
£2.4m renovation
The property sits in the garden of Frogmore House, which is only a short mile away from Windsor Castle

The Grade II listed cottage sits on the grounds of Frogmore House, which is just a few minutes drive from the late Queen Elizabeth’s residence at Windsor Castle.
An unnamed royal insider once said: “Frogmore, which is inside the Windsor security zone, is secluded, peaceful, tranquil and, most importantly, private.”
The sprawling Frogmore House was built in the 1680s and has a huge garden which serves as the burial place for royal family members such as Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert.
Before Harry and Meghan moved in, the cottage was a series of apartments housing workers from the Windsor estate.
It was converted to one large home to make room for the couple and their son, Archie.
According to reports, designer Vicky Charles, who is the mastermind behind Soho House was chosen by the couple to take charge of upgrading the interior.

Even with the eye-watering cost of the renovations, Frogmore Cottage does not come close to their £11million Montecito home.
It is said to feature nine bedrooms, a spa, tennis court, outdoor pool, and a private playground for Archie and Lilibet.
