Inside Princess Charlotte’s lavish life – ‘£800K dolls house’ to valuable heirlooms & stylish wardrobe picked by Kate

SHE may only be eight years old but Princess Charlotte is already living a fairytale life that most of us adults can only dream of.

The young royal – who’s celebrating her birthday today – was taken to a performance of Cinderella at the Royal Opera House in London this weekend by mum Kate, 41, as an early treat.

Audience members were stunned to see Charlotte and her friends there, and the dance-mad young royal was seen taking to the stage at the end of the performance.

She joined the cast for photos and waved an illuminated star wand as she danced across the stage.

It’s no doubt she’s one of the most privileged children in the world, with a source previously telling Closer magazine her life is “a total fairytale”.

Here we take a look inside Charlotte’s very lavish life, including a £800,000 dolls house and a chic wardrobe handpicked by her stylish mum.

When she was born, Charlotte was gifted a £30,000 18-karat white gold rattle encrusted with jewels from the Natural Sapphire company.

Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle also gave her a custom stuffed animal.

A source told OK! USA: “She owns the most expensive toys and attends one of London’s most prestigious pre-schools. She truly has it all. Charlotte’s bedroom is every little girl’s dream. It has so many toys and treasures that are worth a fortune.”

The source added that Charlotte also enjoys playing with an antique dolls house worth an estimated £800,000 that has been in the Royal Family for nearly a century.

A source told OK! USA: “She loves rearranging the rooms and dressing up her dolls in charming outfits that are similar to hers.”

Princess Charlotte is already proving she’s a style icon thanks to an enviable wardrobe cultivated by her super stylish mum.

She’s even been snapped ‘twinning’ with Kate when she wore a navy dress with white polka dots similar to the one the Princess of Wales wore to Wimbledon.

And just like Kate, she is a fan of mixing clothes from posh luxury brands like Boden with items from high street favourites like John Lewis and Next.

Kate is a big fan of British designer Rachel Riley, and the £39 navy Breton striped jersey dress Charlotte wore on a day out at the Commonwealth Games last summer sold out in 24 hours, with designer Rachel setting up a waiting list for the frock.

Valuable heirlooms

The lucky young princess will also reportedly get the first pick of Princess Diana’s family jewels.

It’s said she’ll one day inherit the Spencer Tiara, currently in the possession of Diana‘s brother, Earl Charles Spencer.

She is also reportedly set to inherit more than £1.7million worth of jewels from Kate, with the most valuable piece being the Queen Mary Lover’s Knot Tiara, worth £1m.

Charlotte’s parents are keen to give their children as normal an upbringing as possible, and so Charlotte, like her brothers, don’t use their HRH titles at school.

All three children go to Lambrook, an independent preparatory school in Berkshire, after the family moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park.

It boasts a 25m indoor swimming pool, with pupils having swimming lessons as part of their timetable – another sporting interest Charlotte shares with her late grandmother Diana.

There is also a full-size AstroTurf pitch, nine-hole golf course, outdoor adventure play area, polo field, bee farm and mini Masterchef club.

The fancy school charges an increasing annual fee as youngsters go through the school, meaning the three children’s education will cost a whopping £71,344 a year.

Horse riding and dancing

Princess Charlotte wowed the nation with her cute dance moves at last year’s Jubilee celebrations

Outside of school Princess Charlotte has a packed social diary and is already showing a great skill for horse riding – just like her great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Charlotte is said to have started riding from a very young age – just 17 months old.

It was revealed last year that the princess and her older brother Prince George had the chance to try pony riding thanks to their second cousin Zara Tindall, an Olympic medal winning event rider.

Charlotte had weekly ballet classes at her old school, St Thomas’ in Battersea, and melted the nation’s hearts in a clip as she showed off her ‘sassy’ dance moves while enjoying the late Queen’s Jubilee celebrations last year.

Back in 2017, the Princess of Wales revealed Charlotte “absolutely loves” to dance and is already taking lessons.

Enviable playgrounds

When it comes to holidays, as well as exotic family trips to the Caribbean, Charlotte and her brothers love spending summers in Balmoral, the late Queen’s Scottish retreat.

The estate covers a whopping 50,000 acres and is the playground of dreams for youngsters.

It was at Balmoral that Princess Charlotte’s older cousin, Lady Louise Windsor, took her under her wing and taught her how to draw.

A source said: “Louise loves drawing and sketching and was very patiently trying to get Charlotte to do pictures of rabbits and deer.”

William and Kate also have their spacious Norfolk bolt-hole Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham Estate, where they still spend school holidays.

There, the Sandringham Woodland Play Area – inspired by Kate’s Back to Nature Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 – is on their doorstep.

It boasts treetop walkways, zip wires, slides, swings and sandpits, which must be a hit with outdoorsy Charlotte.

In video released by the royals, Princess Charlotte was seen screaming in excitement as she jumped onto a rope-knot swing designed by her mum.

Budding photographer

Princess Charlotte is said to be a keen photographer like her mum, who took this shot

The Princess of Wales is a keen photographer and often takes pictures to mark family occasions – and Charlotte is said to be following in her mum’s footsteps.

She was reportedly given a children’s video camera for Christmas in 2021.

But whatever Princess Charlotte turns her hand to, it seems she will be a success.

She is set to become the richest young royal with an estimated net worth of £3.6billion, according to a study by toy company Electric Rides on Cars in 2021.
